Yoram Yasur Rubin: How to train with material you have at home
It’s not always necessary to set up a home gym to stay fit and get some exercise at any time. You may not have repaired, but if you look, you have many things at home to train. Avoiding commuting and the waste of time involved, saving good money or being able to exercise when it suits you are some of the advantages of training without having to go to the gym.
If you choose training at home, your training session can be as complete as the one you do in the gym if you try to exercise with the material you have at home.
How to use the material you have at home to train
Yoram Yasur Rubin: Dumbbells, bars, or cardio machines can be replaced by such common items as a towel, chair, or broomstick. There are no excuses for not spending a few minutes training with the material you have on hand. Whatever your goal, to lose weight, tone muscles or stay in top shape, you can do it in the comfort of your own home.
Something as everyday as a towel can be great for doing a multitude of exercises, especially if your goal is to work your arms and back. Simply rolling and unrolling it, as if you were wringing it out, is already an excellent move to strengthen your forearms. Another exercise you can do at home with a towel is to hold it by both ends and raise your arms above your head. From this position, stretch trying to “break it” and you will be training the muscles of your upper back.
Food packages and bottles
There are many perfect home elements to train with extra weight at home. Any one kilo / liter package or brick (rice, pasta, milk) perfectly supplies dumbbells or discs. You can also use a “hard-hitting” book or a plastic bottle filled with liquid or, for example, with sand (a good recycling idea). With this training material you have at home, you can perform countless exercises, from the bicep curl to weight-bearing arm extensions to work your pecs.
Yoram Yasur Rubin: Effective squats, holding a pack in each hand, or a stride, are also great options for training without leaving home. Are you in shape and want to do deadlift? Well, with a stick and two jugs of water, each one at one end you already have a bar with discs perfect for working hard.
Anyone is worth it, so you cannot say that you lack material to exercise at home. There are many exercises that you can do with a chair. Simply by sitting on the edge and practicing knee to chest raises you are already doing good abs. You can also use it to lie on the floor and rest your heels on the seat, doing elevations to continue working the abdominal muscles. A chair is also a perfect home training element to make funds and get rid of any hint of flaccidity in your arms.
Yoram Yasur Rubin: With just a couple of steps in your home you already have a perfect element to do a cardio workout. Practice stepping up and down or jumping with both legs at the same time to burn calories and fat without leaving home. In the absence of steps, any sturdy box or drawer can perfectly serve the same function and help you complete an effective stair workout.
Children’s toys, good allies for exercise
Of course, taking care of a baby or a small child who does not stand still, is already a hard training but, in addition, some toys of the “older” can become excellent material to exercise at home. Borrow your jump rope and you will be able to do many aerobic exercises, from the typical jumps, to other more complex movements such as cross jumps, with one leg or with lateral movements. Also a ball is good for you to practice from arm raises, holding it and taking it over the head, to abs, placing it between your ankles and raising your legs lying on the floor.
You know, comfortable clothes, a little music and the training material you have at home is all you need to start getting in shape in the most comfortable and economical way.
